Photography- Your vision
Whenever you listen to the word PHOTOGRAPHY, what is the first image attained in your mind?
It could be still pictures, landscape pictures, portraits of people, and anything. Well in my point of view I think photography is everything. It can be stress relief therapy, it can be an ART, it can be a storytelling tool and it can be NATURE, and language as well.
First, let us talk about Photography as a stress relief therapy;
Have you ever felt stressed, and overwhelmed with life? — Then you should go out on a walk with your camera, that will instantly let you feel much better than before?
I remember whenever I had a bad mood or something, I used to take photography as a meditation tool for my stress because it helps me to focus my attention outside my mind and distract me from stress and anxiety.
It helps me to focus on staying away from negative thoughts, it helps me to relax. I don’t care so much about the final product. Rather than worrying about results, I relish the whole process of photography.
Well stress is a normal reaction of our body to get adapt changes- Calm your mind with photography
If you are having stress, then don’t worry you are holding the great stress management tool in your hand …. Wondering what???
It is your phone with a camera.
Focus on your camera, not on the phone, forget about other applications. Give your brain a bit of resting time.
Photography is an ART:
You could say it has become the second nature now because everyone is involved in this art, even those who don’t have professional cameras but still they can capture great moments of their life just by the one-touch of a phone button.
For creating artistic photographs, you should go for a photo-walk. Which means walk slow, breath deep pay attention to the details, and then take photos. Paying attention to details will helps you to focus on the mind so that you can find little hidden treasures.
Practice gratitude, we easily see all bad things first, this behavior doesn’t help us to relieve stress. This practice gratitude can help us to switch our point of view. You can put anything in that frame.
The visual information is the one that keeps saved in the individual's mind. If we talk about social media, the internet, television, advertising, in and outside of our house, images containing a wide variety of subjects are thrown at us.
Tell a STORY with your picture:
I think the best picture is the one who has no character and no caption but speaks the whole story. It can only be built by the concept. And that will create artistic photos. If you pick up a subject first RESEARCH about it, know your subject at least a bit, for example, if you are traveling somewhere going any new place you must know about the background of places, so you are just going in cold.
After it the second important thing is telling a story via pictures is DISTILL, it means your viewer must have an eye on one object, try to clarify and simplify the most powerful element on your image. Don’t push yourself to CAPTURE all in one pic, it will confuse your viewer. So stay focus on your subject and don’t make the picture to busy.
“Busyness is the enemy of clarity”
The last and third thing to telling a story with pictures is EXECUTE, which means you should know your craft you should know your field of photography, whether its landscape, portraits, flowers, objects, and anything just know it.
In conclusion, photography is a way to treat yourself, taking photos always helps to focus on what you have in front of your eyes NOW.
“In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality.” — Alfred Stieglitz
